Paris Olympic Games: Thierry Henry names Michael Olise, Alexandre Lacazette and Jean-Philippe Mateta in France squad

Thierry Henry has named his 18-strong squad for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games. He has chosen Jean-Philippe Mateta, Alexandre Lacazette and Loic Bade as the three over-23 players, with Warren Zaire-Emery and Bradley Barcola among those to drop out. The French team play their first game on July 24, against the United States, before they move onto meetings with Guinea and New Zealand.

France have named Alexandre Lacazette, Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta in their squad for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Thierry Henry takes charge of the team for the Olympics this summer, and he has named an 18-strong squad.
Olise is included after his recent transfer to Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace, and he will be joined by his former Palace team-mate, Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Another forward included for the coming tournament is Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette, with his domestic colleague Rayan Cherki also included.
Rennes are providing in-demand teenage midfielder Desire Doue, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Adrien Truffert.

RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba, Sevilla’s Bade, and Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone have also been selected.
Henry has to do without Paris Saint-Germain duo Warren Zaire-Emery and Bradley Barcola, with the four players held in reserve being Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, Theo De Percin of Auxerre, Lens' Andy Diouf and Monaco’s Chrislain Matsima.
France’s first group-stage match is against the USA on July 24, then Guinea on the 27th, and New Zealand on July 30.
