The United States are bidding for a record-extending fifth Olympic gold medal when they face Brazil in the Paris 2024 final on Saturday. Led by former Chelsea boss Emma Hayes, the USA are up against a Brazilian side aiming to become champions for the first time after near-misses in 2004 and 2008, when they took silver. The USA won four of the first five events but haven't won gold since 2012.

That's all for today
Once again, it is gold for Team USA, who edged out Brazil at Parc des Princes thanks to Mallory Swanson's second-half strike.
The Stars and Stripes prevailed against the Selecao for the third time in an Olympic gold medal clash, having also done so in 2004 and 2008, meaning the latter's wait for glory goes on.
Thank you very much for joining us this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye!
FULL-TIME! Brazil 0-1 USA
It's another gold medal for Team USA!
Their fifth triumph in the women's football event was sealed by Mallory Swanson, who marked her 100th international cap with the winning goal in the 57th minute.
Also gold medallists in 1996, 2004, 2008 and 2012, the Stars and Stripes deliver the first triumph of the Emma Hayes era.
90+6' Brazil 0-1 USA
Swanson, who looks like she will be the match winner, makes way for Krueger.
The USA then have a worry as Horan stays down following an aerial collision with Rafaelle.
The medical team are quickly on the pitch, but the midfielder appears to be fine.
90+4' GOOD SAVE! Brazil 0-1 USA
Brazil continue to apply the pressure. Adriana peels away to meet a cross at the far post, but Naeher does well to block her header.
90+2' Brazil 0-1 USA
Marta clips the ball into the box, but it eludes her team-mates and ends up in Naeher's grateful arms.
90' Brazil 0-1 USA
The fourth official indicates there will be 10 additional minutes at the end of this game.
Can Brazil find that equaliser?
89' Brazil 0-1 USA
Brazil are awarded a free-kick near the edge of the penalty area.
Marta steps up and lifts her delivery over the ball, but cannot generate the required dip to prevent it going over the crossbar.
87' Brazil 0-1 USA
Marta looks to force the issue for Brazil with a low ball into the box, but Sonnett is alert and clears the USA's lines.
84' Brazil 0-1 USA
Albert goes for goal from the edge of the area, and Lorena has to watch her looping effort all the way over the crossbar.
82' Brazil 0-1 USA
As the clock ticks down, the USA are awarded a free-kick in a decent position.
However, Horan sends her delivery into the wall, before her follow-up effort is well off target.
77' Brazil 0-1 USA
Another cooling break ensues. This will give Elias his final opportunity to get any further instructions across to his players.
Can they turn this around and deliver their nation's first gold medal?
74' Brazil 0-1 USA
The USA make their first change of the final. Davidson is given a breather as she makes way for Sonnett.
71' Brazil 0-1 USA
Can Marta make a difference on her return from suspension?
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner will retire from international football after this tournament, but would love to bow out with a gold medal.
66' Brazil 0-1 USA
The Stars and Stripes counter once more. This time, Smith steps inside, but drags her attempt wide.
64' Brazil 0-1 USA
The USA break with Rodman leading the charge. The winger cuts inside and shoots from the edge of the box, but her effort is wide of Lorena's right post.
61' Brazil 0-1 USA
Arthur Elias turns to the bench and makes three changes.
Marta enters the action, as does Angelia and Priscila. Sampaio, Jheniffer and Ludmila are the players to make way.
57' GOAL! Brazil 0-1 USA
Swanson breaks the deadlock in the gold medal match!
Today's centurion springs the offside trap to latch onto a throughball in behind the Brazil defence, before calmly slotting past Lorena.
55' Brazil 0-0 USA
Brazil have only won three of their 40 previous meetings with the USA, but the Selecao have more than held their own so far today.
50' Brazil 0-0 USA
Brazil have made a bright start to the second half, but suffer an early blow with Yaya forced to leave the field on a stretcher.
Vitoria comes on in her place.
KICK-OFF! Brazil 0-0 USA
We are back under way in Paris.
HALF-TIME! Brazil 0-0 USA
The referee blows her whistle and the honours remain even at the midway point in this gold medal match.
45+2' GREAT SAVE! Brazil 0-0 USA
The Selecao continue to generate the greater attacking threat. Portilho, who has been lively in this first half, meets a low cross at the near post, but Naeher produces a brilliant reflex save to deny her.
45' Brazil 0-0 USA
We are going to play six additional minutes at the end of this first half. That is plenty of time for both sides to find the opening goal before the break.
40' Brazil 0-0 USA
Portilho shows neat footwork to generate space to send a deep cross to the far post, where Fox does well to head clear with Ludmila breathing down her neck.
35' Brazil 0-0 USA
There is a concern for Brazil with Lorena going down following a collision with Swanson.
The medical team are on to tend to the goalkeeper, and the Selecao will hope it is nothing too serious.
31' Brazil 0-0 USA
We have passed the half-hour mark and are still awaiting the breakthrough at Parc des Princes.
A cooling break enables both sides to re-hydrate and regroup, while receiving instructions from their coaches.
28' Brazil 0-0 USA
Brazil go back onto the attack and a deep cross reaches Ludmila at the far post, but Fox is alert and clears the danger.
26' Brazil 0-0 USA
The Stars and Stripes counter from a Brazil set-piece. Swanson demonstrates tremendous pace to accelerate away from the defence, but her eventual shot is well-saved by Lorena.
19' Brazil 0-0 USA
Ludmila looks to connect with Portilho's inviting cross, but cannot quite stretch enough to make the vital contact.
16' NO GOAL! Brazil 0-0 USA
Brazil think they have drawn first blood as Ludmila cleverly skips away from a challenge before finishing past Naeher.
However, the offside flag is subsequently raised against the forward, who just strayed a fraction too early.
12' Brazil 0-0 USA
Tom Cruise is in the crowd cheering on Team USA today.
The Stars and Stripes know their mission for gold today is very possible, but they will not be taking their opponents for granted.
9' Brazil 0-0 USA
Smith looks to connect with Swanson's low cross at the near post, but Thais is there to deny her a clear sight on goal.
5' Brazil 0-0 USA
Smith registers the USA's first shot at the other end. Like Ludmila, her effort is on target, but straight into the goalkeeper's arms.
2' Brazil 0-0 USA
The first opportunity of the gold medal match falls to Brazil, but Ludmila shoots straight at Naeher from close range.
KICK-OFF! Brazil 0-0 USA
We are off and running at Parc des Princes.
Here they come
The teams make their way out onto the field, and will now observe the national anthems ahead of kick-off.
10 minutes until KO
Story so far
Brazil only progressed from the group stage as one of the best third-placed teams, but then recorded impressive victories over France and Spain in the quarter and semi-finals respectively.
Meanwhile, the USA advanced from Group B with three wins from three, before they required extra time to overcome both Japan and Germany 1-0.

Third time lucky?
Today marks the third time in six Olympia that Brazil and the USA are battling it out for the women's gold medal.
The Stars and Stripes prevailed in both the 2004 and 2008 finals. Can the Selecao avenge those defeats here and finally land that elusive gold medal?
Good afternoon
Welcome back everyone to live football coverage at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
We are back at Parc des Princes today for the women's gold medal match between Brazil and the USA.
CAMELLO DOUBLE SETTLES FINAL FOR THE AGES
Spain are the mens Olympic football champions for the second time in their history, after a dramatic extra-time victory over France at the Parc des Princes.
Substitute Sergio Camello was the hero in the additional period, with two adroit finishes over Guillaume Restes to win a chaotic and engrossing match.
Spain looked to have won this final after ten exceptional first half minutes, in which Fermin Lopez scored twice before Alex Baena floated a free kick into the net to put them in charge in the final.
Eric Millot had put France ahead after just 12 minutes, when his shot went through the hands of Arnau Tenas and in at the far post.
In the second half France mounted a stirring comeback in the dying minutes, with a goal from Maghnes Akliouche and an injury time penalty from Jean-Philippe Mateta pulling France level at 3-3.
This victory gives Spain gold in the men’s football competition for the first time since 1992, when they triumphed in front of their home crowd in Barcelona.
FT in ET France 3-5 Spain
It's over, Spain are the men's Olympic football champions once more! That was a stunning final, who says football doesn't belong in the Games? That was epic, engrossing sport.
120+1' GOAL! France 3-5 Spain
Camello has finally settled this wild and wonderful final. Tenas gathers a loose ball in the area, and projects the ball upfield with France stretched. Camello races past Lukeba and he's through; once again he takes his time before dinking his finish over Restes for his second. That's a superb finish.
119' France 3-4 Spain
Doue again dances into space, this time on the right of the area, but fires a tired shot wide of goal.
119' France 3-4 Spain
Magassa has a crack from 30 yards out, trying to curl one into the far corner. That's tremendously ambitious at this stage, and Tenas gathers easily.
118' France 3-4 Spain
Cherki jinks into spaceon the right of the area, but puts his cross straight into the hands of Tenas.
116' France 3-4 Spain
Kalimeundo is put through down the right, but a lunging intervention from Eric Garcia pokes the ball away to the right.
114' France 3-4 Spain
Spain get forwards down the left and whip a cross into the centre. Camello looks favourite to tap in from six yards out but Lukeba gets back at him and the ball ricochets into the hands of Restes.
110' France 3-4 Spain
Cherki replaces Sidillia for France.
108' France 3-4 Spain
Doue hits the deck after reaching the byline, after a robust challenge from Sergio Gomez. He wants a penalty, but there's nothing doing.
106' France 3-4 Spain
France make a change, as Magassa replaces Kone, and off we go once more. Spain pour forwards - this is such a blancmange of a game now - and Sergio Gomez forces a good save out of Restes to win a corner.
FT in ET France 3-4 Spain
A France corner after good work by Olise comes to nothing, and it's half-time in the additional period.
105' France 3-4 Spain
Doue gets the ball on the left again, and this time cuts across the face of the area and booms a shot away with his right foot. Tenas gathers, but only at the second attempt as the shot almost goes through him. Nervy stuff!
104' France 3-4 Spain
Doue ghosts by two on the left and crosses low into the area. Spain clear it, but Doue and Olise are ripping them up on the flanks.
102' France 3-4 Spain
Can France go to the well again?
100' GOAL! France 3-4 Spain
This is brilliant from Spain. They've composed themselves, and are back in front. Bernabe dances into space in the hole, and slips a gorgeous pass to Camello in the area, who is clean through. Camello draws Restes out and then dinks a smart finish over him to put Spain ahead once more!
98' France 3-3 Spain
Miranda's race is run, he's replaced by Gutierrez.
96' France 3-3 Spain
A chance for Spain as a lofted pass finds Miranda at the back post. He could volley at goal or bring it down, he has so much time; instead he tries to knock it back across goal and Bade heads clear. What a waste that was.
94' France 3-3 Spain
Doue cracks a shot at goal from the left of the area, it deflects off a prone Spanish player and just past the outstretched foot of Kalimuendo at the back post.
93' France 3-3 Spain
Pacheco is booked for a late lunge on Olise.
91' France 3-3 Spain
We're off again with extra-time, which starts with Mateta blazing a half-volley well wide of goal.
Anything could happen now, as France are going all guns blazing while Spain have taken off some key attacking players.
FT France 3-3 Spain
Locko is coming on for France, replacing Truffert.
FT France 3-3 Spain
You'd take another half an hour at least, wouldn't you? Well, it's incoming!
90+7' France 3-3 Spain
Lorks a lordy, this is wild! Olise dances along the byline and forces a save from Tenas. France win a corner, which clears everyone and hits Lukeba at the back post, who can't project it towards goal from two yards out. Football, eh? Nothing like it kids, nothing like it!
90+6' France 3-3 Spain
Oh my stars. Spain work it into the French area and from the edge Turrientes, who gave away the penalty, cracks a shot onto the bar and over!
90+4' France 3-3 Spain
What is it about France and sharing six goals in major tournament finals? It's Qatar 2022 all over again.
By the way, we're into a minimum of five added minutes. That penalty took forever to award and take though, so there could be another big chance yet.
90+3' GOAL! France 3-3 Spain
After an age of a delay Mateta steps up...and sends Tenas the wrong way to level up the final! What a match this is, and it looks like we'll have half an hour more of it!
90' France 2-3 Spain
Dramarama! There's going to be a penalty check on VAR as Kalimuendo is hauled down at the back post by Turrientes, who wasn't even looking at the ball. Surely that's a penalty?
It's checked and yes, yes it is! And Miranda is booked for his protests, not that anyone in the Parc des Princes notices!
88' France 2-3 Spain
Doue wins a corner, which Olise takes. It's headed clear and Spain break like lightning, feeding Sergio Gomez on the left of the area whol blazes a shot across goal and a yard wide of the far post.
Pacheco replaces Oroz for Spain, who look to shore this up.
86' France 2-3 Spain
Spain keep the ball for a few minutes, which takes the sting out of the atmosphere a touch.
83' France 2-3 Spain
Baena and Ruiz depart for Spain, replaced by Turrientes and Camello.
81' France 2-3 Spain
Olise whips in a corner from the left. It's headed out to the edge, where Kone cracks a bobbling shot a couple of yards past the post.
79' GOAL! France 2-3 Spain
Game on! Olise whips the free kick in to the near post. The ball goes through the legs of Akliouche, and I think catches a slight nick before flying in at the far post! They've given it to Akliouche, but the bigger news is that France are right back in this match, and don't the crowd in Paris know it!
78' France 1-3 Spain
France make a change, Doue is on for Millot. As I type that, Baena brings down Olise and is booked.
77' France 1-3 Spain
Bernabe is booked for pulling down the breaking Kone.
76' France 1-3 Spain
Olise cuts in from the right and tries to slide rule a pass through to Akliouche in the area, but it's overcooked and runs behind. If France can get one here we're in for a barnstorming finish.
73' France 1-3 Spain
Lopez and Pubill are off for Spain, Sanchez and Bernabe are on.
72' France 1-3 Spain
What a save this is! Kone drives into the box from a one-two and shoots low to the far corner. Tenas dives across and pulls off a superb one-handed save to turn the ball wide! Not thirty seconds later, Millot dances along the byline on the right and blazes over from a tight angle.
70' France 1-3 Spain
Another chance! A poor corner from Olise skids through to Akliouche, who tries to cushion it and shoot from eight yards out but can only manage an air shot as Spain then clear.
67' France 1-3 Spain
Half a chance here. Akliouche slides a diagonal pass through to Mateta, who can only scuff a low shot into the hands of Tenas.
64' France 1-3 Spain
There's a bit of a lull as France keep possession. They badly need a goal in the next ten minutes.
61' France 1-3 Spain
This could have been curtains. Pubill whips across that beats everyone in the middle and Miranda arrives unmarked at the back post...and shins it high over the bar. Oh my, that was a decent look.
60' France 1-3 Spain
Millot and Oroz both have nibbles at each others ankles, and when the former has a free kick given against him in the centre circle he is less than pleased
57' France 1-3 Spain
Off the bar! Truffert hangs a cross up into the area. Kone has the run on everyone and rises highest, glancing a header at the goal that clips the top of the crossbar and goes out.
53' France 1-3 Spain
A French free kick into the area by Olise is cleared to the edge of the area. Lukeba picks it up and it sits up nicely, but his shot is deflected behind for a corner.
52' France 1-3 Spain
Sure enough Lacazette is hooked, as is Chotard. On come Kalimuendo and Akliouche.
51' France 1-3 Spain
Henry has seen enough, and changes are incoming. Lacazette, who gives it away cheaply here, might be done.
48' France 1-3 Spain
Ruiz finds some space in the D of the Spanish area. He opens up and shoots after receiving a short pass, but it's blazed wide of goal.
47' France 1-3 Spain
Truffert gamely overlaps down the left for France, and fires a cross into th middle. It's a good ball, but Cubarsi is there to clear.
45' France 1-3 Spain
The teams are back out, no signs of any changes as yet. We're underway again in Paris.
HT France 1-3 Spain
A breathless first half is now over. France took the lead early, but a blast of three goals in ten minutes has put Spain in charge.
45+5' France 1-3 Spain
Bade leaves one on Miranda, and is rightly booked.
45+4' France 1-3 Spain
It's mayhem in the Spanish area, as first Lacazette nearly scrambles in a loose ball from the corner, and then Olise cushions a volley that is shot-cum-cross, and drifts just wide of the far post!
45+2' France 1-3 Spain
So close! Chotard fires a low drive across goal from the left of the area. The ball deflects up and Mateta is there to guide a header at goal, and Tenas pulls off a superb one-handed save to put the ball out for a corner. Stunning!
45' France 1-3 Spain
We'll have seven more minutes in this half; I've honestly no idea where that number came from.
44' France 1-3 Spain
Millot is clipped by Fermin Lopez, it's a free kick to France 40 yards from goal. Olise whips it in to the penalty spot, but Spain clear with miniscule fuss.
41' France 1-3 Spain
Great play from Oroz and Miranda releases the latter into the area on the left. His low cross balloons up off the foot of Restes, and France scramble the ball away. That could have been four.
40' France 1-3 Spain
France get forwards through Olise, who cuts in from the right and swings the ball in with his left foot. The ball drifts over the head of Mateta and out.
38' France 1-3 Spain
Lopez, desirous of a hat trick, shoots from the edge of the area but Lukeba gets in the way and blocks the ball with his shins.
36' France 1-3 Spain
Kone is booked for wiping out Oroz 40 yards from goal. It followed a very slick bout of Spanish possession, starting near their own goal and sweeping forwards. They're having fun out there alright.
35' France 1-3 Spain
Sidilllia dumps Fermin Lopez to the floor, and it's a free kick to Spain.
32' France 1-3 Spain
The crowd are trying to rouse the home side with a defiant airing of La Marseillais. Henry is bellowing at his players from the touchline; France really need to get to the break with the score no worse than this.
30' France 1-3 Spain
It's fair to say that the Parc des Princes is stunned. What a barrage that was.
28' GOAL! France 1-3 Spain
Oh my days, it's three! Baena takes the free kick, and whips it up and over the wall and into the net, with Restes rooted to the spot! France have been blitzed here with three goals going past them in ten minutes. Wow!
27' France 1-2 Spain
Miranda bombs forwards again and is clattered by Bade as he cuts infield. Bade is very lucky not to be booked there, and it's a free kick for Spain from 25 yards out.
25' GOAL! France 1-2 Spain
It's two for Spain, and it's him again! From wide on the left Miranda fires a superb low cross into the six yard box. Ruiz shoots from point blank range, Restes parries it, and Fermin Lopez is on hand to guide the loose ball in to an empty net!
24' France 1-1 Spain
That goal has really settled Spain down. And as I type that...

22' France 1-1 Spain
In this increasingly frenetic game France win a corner. Olise whips it to the penalty spot where Mateta meets it, but he can only head the ball straight at Tenas.
20' France 1-1 Spain
Phew, what an opening! France have looked watertight at the back in this Olympics so far, but they were sliced wide open there.
18' GOAL! France 1-1 Spain
From their first real attack Spain are level, and it's that man Fermin Lopez again! Baena gets the ball in the inside right channel and reverses a lovely pass into the area, where Fermin Lopez has wandered into space and is completely unmarked. Fermin Lopez shoots first time with his right, guiding the ball past Restes from 15 yards out.
16' France 1-0 Spain
France have bossed this so far, Spain have offered very little.

14' France 1-0 Spain
Olise finds Millot on the right of the area again. Millot guides a low cross into the six yard box, but this time Tenas clutches the ball in both hands.
11' GOAL! France 1-0 Spain
Out of nothing, France lead! Pubill makes a hash of a clearance in his own box, which falls to Millot near the edge Millot booms the ball back at goal, which is straight at Tenas...and the shot goes through the hands of Tenas and sneaks in just inside the far post!
8' France 0-0 Spain
Mateta is in the thick of it again, getting a chipped ball to feet in the area and trying to run Pubill on the outside. The ball ricochets back off Mateta and out for a throw-in.
5' France 0-0 Spain
Mateta tries a stepover to beat Pubill on the left of the area, but Publill reads it well and wins the ball back for Spain.
2' France 0-0 Spain
It's a lively start from the hosts as Lacazette releases Chotard down the left, and his low cross is cleared from the penalty spot. Lacazette then goes over on the left of the area, looking for a corner or even a penalty, but gets neither.
1' France 0-0 Spain
Peep peep! Off we go in the men's Olympic football final!
Here we go
The teams come out into a Parc des Princes that sounds right up for this. The Spanish anthem gets respectful applause, before La Marseillais booms out into the Paris sky. This should be a cracker, get yourselves situated.
Spanish Main
You don't need to tell Spain how euphoric a home win in the men's Olympic football can be. It was 32 years ago that they swept to victory in Barcelona with a last minute winner from Kiko against Poland, thus hooking gold medals around the necks of Pep Guardiola, Luis Enrique, Albert Ferrer and others. They'll be itching for their second victory in this tournament today, to round off a glorious summer kicked off by the men's team winning Euro 2024.
What price a home win?
So, can Thierry Henry pull this off? He's potentially ninety minutes from taking France to gold and glory in Paris. If the local fans reactions to their gold medals thus far are anything to go by, the reception for a French victory here in the Parc des Princes this evening could be off the map. France have only shipped one goal so far in their pursuit of immortality at this Olympics, and on that solid base has been grafted some Crystal Palace flair; Michael Olise has showcased the talent that Bayern Munich are about to benefit from, while Jean-Philippe Mateta has hit four goals in their last three games.
Team Talk
France make two changes in midfield from the team that beat Egypt in Tuesday’s dramatic semi-final. Andy Diouf and Maghnes Akliouche make way for Manu Kone and Enzo Millot.
As for Spain, they retain the starting eleven that beat Morocco in Marseille four days ago.
