TV pundit Paul Scholes was one of the first to lay into Ozil, saying: "I don't like it. At the end of the game, maybe. But still I'm not a big fan then. You do it that once you're in the tunnel or in the dressing room, out of the way of everyone. At half-time, it's not for me."
Some onlookers reported that Kondogbia had asked Ozil to swap, and the Arsenal man was simply being polite - and fans observed that the growing furore could be deemed excessive.
Meanwhile, others reacted angrily to the shirt-swap.
