German defender has been struggling with a calf strain
Marvin Compper’s Celtic debut has been put on ice after the new Hoops recruit was ruled out for a month with a calf strain.
The German defender was expected to make his first appearance for Brendan Rodgers’ team against Brechin in Saturday’s William Hill Scottish Cup clash at Parkhead.
But he has now joined a casualty list already containing the names of Jonny Hayes (broken leg), Tom Rogic, Anthony Ralston (both knee) and Patrick Roberts (hamstring).
Provisional squad: Gordon, Lustig, Tierney, Gamboa, Simunovic, Sviatchenko, Boyata, Ntcham, Brown, Bitton, Armstrong, McGregor, Forrest, Sinclair, Griffiths, Dembele, Ajer, Edouard, Kouassi, De Vries.
