FIFA has imposed a three-year ban on Luis Rubiales following the kiss he gave Jenni Hermoso after Spain's win over England in the Women's World Cup final. Rubiales was handed an initial 90-day suspension by FIFA, but the world football governing body determined that the now ex-Spanish FA president had breached article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Hermoso said the kiss was non-consensual.

Former Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales has been banned from football-related activities for three years by FIFA.
Rubiales faced calls to resign after kissing Jenni Hermoso in the aftermath of Spain's 1-0 win over England in the Women's World Cup final.
Hermoso claimed the kiss was non-consensual, and made a legal complaint against Rubiales following the incident.
After initially seeking to carry on in his role, Rubiales confirmed he had stepped down from the post in a statement which read: "After the quick suspension carried out by FIFA, plus the rest of open proceedings against me, it is evident that I will not be able to return to my position.
"Insisting on waiting and holding on is not going to contribute to anything positive, neither to the federation nor to Spanish football."
FIFA had initially handed the 46-year-old a 90-day suspension at the end of August when it opened disciplinary proceedings, but they have now imposed a three-year ban following their investigation.
FIFA said in a statement released on Monday: “The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has banned Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Spanish Football Association (RFEF), from all football-related activities at national and international levels for three years, having found that he acted in breach of article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
“This case relates to the events that occurred during the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup on 20 August 2023, for which Mr Rubiales had been provisionally suspended for an initial period of 90 days.
“Mr Rubiales has been notified of the terms of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision today.
"In accordance with the relevant provisions of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, he has 10 days in which to request a motivated decision, which, if requested, would subsequently be published on legal.fifa.com.
"The decision remains subject to a possible appeal before the FIFA Appeal Committee.
“FIFA reiterates its absolute commitment to respecting and protecting the integrity of all people and ensuring that the basic rules of decent conduct are upheld.”
