Jardim believes the £142m sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona from Liverpool proves that every club will sell if the price is right.
Jardim, 43, is set to oversee a 200th game as Monaco manager against Montpellier this weekend with Lemar, 22, heavily linked with a possible move to Arsenal or Liverpool in the Premier League.
“You know how crazy the market can be," Jardim said.
“Things can happen that even a club like Monaco can’t say no to.
It happened at Liverpool. The figures today are very high. Everything can change very quickly. What I tell you today can be different tomorrow.
“I want to keep Lemar. If I stayed here for 10 years, I’d want Lemar to stay with me for 10 years.
“He’s young. He could play for another decade. He’s got a lot of qualities and I like him a lot.”
Liverpool have already confirmed the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona whilst Arsenal are expected to lose Alexis Sanchez in January which could lead to both clubs chasing attacking signings.
