French duo win appeal

Ligue 1 sides PSG and Marseille have appealed successfully against a ruling to deduct a point apiece after repeat incidents between the two. The National Council for Ethics had punished the sides after the match in Paris on March 5th.

The initial ruling had been made on April 3rd, with both sides appealing the decision.
The punishment had been meted out after PSG allegedly mishandled crowd safety and Marseille sent a B-team to the fixture fearing the safety of their players couldn't be guaranteed.
The fixture has been tainted with unsavoury incidents in recent years, with noxious gas ammonia being released into PSG's dressing room prior to the fixture in Marseille earlier this season.
