Nakata rejoins Troussier

Japan midfielder Koji Nakata flew out of Tokyo on Thursday to join French club Olympique Marseille, subject to a medical. His move had been in jeopardy after J-League club Kashima Antlers insisted he stay but further talks between the player and Antlers chairman Hiroshi Ushijima broke the deadlock.

The versatile 25-year-old will link up with former Japan coach Philippe Troussier in Marseille upon passing his medical.
Nakata had a successful trial with Marseille recently but last week Kashima rejected an initial bid from the French club.
"In the end, the chairman wished me all the best," said Nakata after leaving Japan's training camp ahead of their World Cup qualifier at home to North Korea on February 9.
"The terms of the contract are very fair and I want to repay those expectations."
