Olympique Marseille coach Jose Anigo resigned on Tuesday, the French Ligue 1 club said. Anigo, who had taken over in January from Alain Perrin, will be replaced by another former Marseille coach, Albert Emon, who was in charge of the reserve team.

Anigo's position was in danger after Marseille's two defeats in less than a week earlier this month against arch-rivals Paris St Germain.
Emon, 51, has been an interim coach at Marseille twice before, in the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 seasons.
Marseille lost 2-1 at the Parc des Princes against 10-man PSG before bowing 3-2 at home in the League Cup.
A reprieve against Racing Strasbourg last week was not enough as the former European Champions lost 2-0 against AC Ajaccio at the weekend.
