Samir Nasri 'under investigation by Spanish anti-doping agency'
Samir Nasri is under investigation by the Spanish anti-doping agency for use of a prohibited intravenous drip, reports the Independent.
Use of an intravenous drip exceeding 50ml of fluid is forbidden under World Anti-Doping Agency regulations unless it is for a specific medical reason or if the individual has a therapeutic use exemption (TUE).
Tweets from Nasri's account on Tuesday night indicated that he had received an "immunity IV drip" at a clinic in Los Angeles, and the Independent's story states that this drip contained vitamin B, vitamin C, lysine and zinc.
The Spanish anti-doping authority AEPSAD have already spoken to Sevilla, Nasri's current club where he is on loan from Manchester City, and will hope to speak to the player himself on his return from the USA.
