Shrewsbury moved into second place in League Two with a convincing 4-1 away win at Morecambe.
Alfie Mawson's deflected goal saved a point for Wycombe as their push for promotion took a slight knock after a 2-2 draw against Accrington. The Chairboys had the chance to go top of League Two for at least 24 hours with victory but despite dominating the match they dropped to third, four points clear of fourth-placed Bury.
Bury made it six wins from seven after Tom Soares earned his team a 1-0 win at struggling York. Soares claimed the only goal of the game in the ninth minute to keep David Flitcroft's men in the shake-up for automatic promotion. The Shakers opened the scoring with the first attack of the match when York midfielder Brad Halliday lost possession in his own half. Joe Riley went on to burst down the right wing and his low cross was turned in by Soares from eight yards.
