Liverpool 0-3 Crystal Palace result - Ismaila Sarr nets twice and Yeremy Pino adds a third as The Eagles knock Arne Slot’s 10-men out of Carabao Cup

Ismaila Sarr was at the double as Crystal Palace won 3-0 at Anfield to dump a much-changed Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup and intensify the pressure on Arne Slot.

The Reds boss rested the majority of his big-hitters with just Milos Kerkez retaining his place in the line-up following the weekend loss at Brentford. 

It proved to be hugely significant to outcome of the cup tie as Palace eventually began to make their experience tell with Sarr taking advantage of a miscue from Joe Gomez to drill in the opener on 41 minutes.

The Senegal star then doubled his money four minutes later when he coolly finished off a slick one-two with Yeremy Pino.

Liverpool rarely looked like reducing the arrears in the second half and their misery was compounded when young substitute Amara Nallo was sent off for bringing down Justin Devenny 11 minutes from time.

Palace put the icing on the cake two minutes from the end thanks to Pino’s superb solo effort.

The result sees last season’s finalists crash out early courtesy of their sixth defeat in their last seven matches in all competitions.

Next up, Liverpool aim to halt a run of four straight Premier League losses at home to Aston Villa on Saturday night. Palace host Brentford earlier that day.
