Real Madrid 4-0 Valencia - La Liga leaders smash Los Che with Mbappe netting brace and classy strikes from Bellingham and Carreras

Kylian Mbappe’s brace and a fine strike from Jude Bellingham helped La Liga leaders Real Madrid to a comprehensive win over Valencia, ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with Liverpool.

Valencia were dominated from the opening minute and Real could have been even further in front at half-time than their three-goal advantage.

Mbappe netted from the penalty spot and then volleyed home Arda Guler’s centre, before spurning the chance for a hat-trick two minutes before the break, acquiescing to Vinicius Junior’s request to take the kick, before watching the Brazilian’s effort be saved by Julen Agirrezabala.

A minute later, Bellingham cut in from the left and curled an unstoppable low effort into the far corner, but this effort was trumped in the second half by Alvaro Carreras' rocket into the top corner, his first goal for Madrid.

Valencia were unlucky not to hit the target when substitute Javi Guerra shot against the bar.

Xabi Alonso's side sit seven points clear at the top of La Liga, while Valencia slip to third bottom on goal difference.

It will be a tougher task than this at Anfield on Tuesday, but judging by this performance Real Madrid will give Liverpool all they can handle and more.

He launched an effort from the edge of the area which Courtois got a slight touch to en route to the post. Fortunately for Real, the rebound landed safely.

It was for a cyncial hack on Endrick near the right hand side of the area.

But it seems he will be able to carry on. He has been pretty anonymous on the right hand side of Real's attack, with all gthe play down the left.

That came as a shock to everyone. Rodrygo's shot was blocked and then from just inside the left-hand edge of the penalty area, the full-back let fly with a rocket which flew into the far top corner.

But still no Trent... Rodrygo replaces Vincius Jr and Endrickcomes on for Mbappe.

No boos on Vinicius Jr's exit from the field. Big ovation for Mbappe.

But he is dispossessed after taking on a couple of players and the ball drops to Camavinga whose effort flies high over the bar.

Valencia are offering little threat and still tight enough at the back to stop Real running rampant.

Alexander-Arnold would certainly like to get some minutes tonight you would think. Let's see if it transpires.

It was fairly comfortable but he had to tip over a long-range effort from Almeida.

A very good point-blank stop from Agirrezabala after Vinicius Jr pulled the ball back for the French striker.

He out-muscled Copete but maybe pulled his arm leading to the referee giving a foul. He was then lucky not to be cautioned when he kicked the ball away.

But he cannot pick out Mbappe.

Duro, Vazquez and Comert come on for Rioja, Correira and Lopez.

But he can't quite get a good connection on his overhead kick.

Not overwhelming but some are there. He stayed down after a challenge from Gaya.
