Real Madrid v Valencia LIVE! Real look to close gap on leaders

Brazilian duo Vincius Jr and Rodrygo both scored braces as Real Madrid thumped Valencia on Saturday night.

Real took the lead after three minutes when Toni Kroos' fifty-yard diagonal ball found Dani Carvajal who turned inside his man and slammed a half-volley home from outside the area.

Vinicius Jr added a second three minutes before the break when he met Rodrygo's awkwardly bouncing low cross with his chest to divert home.

The Real left winger scored a fabulous third cutting in from the left wing before curling a low effort inside the near post.

A minute later goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvii gave the ball straight to Rodrygo who gleefully shot home.

Six minutes before the break Rodrygo netted a second six minutes before full time, before Hugo Duro scored an 88th minute consolation.

The win brings Real within two points of leaders Girona.

Duro finally gets on the scoresheet. Gonzalez crossed low from the right wing and Duro gets in front of his man and shoots home.

Rodrygo scores another fine goal. He turns outside Mosquera and then drives the ball low inside the far post.

But he is denied by a fine tackle from Alaba.

And it almost squeezes inside the near post with Mamardashvili's outstretched leg just keeping it out.

But it is too close to Mamardashvili who saves diving to his right.

Perez is replaced by Gonzalez.

He turns and shoots and it strikes the outstretched arm of Gasiorowski. No penalty is given.

The defender goes into the referee's filling notebook.
