Barca's 3-1 victory in the final in Berlin meant they became the first team to win their domestic league and cup and Europe's elite club competition in the same season on two occasions, repeating their feat from 2009.
Their achievement was all the more remarkable as they were mired in an institutional crisis around the turn of the year which led to the dismissal of sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.
Enrique, who was appointed by Zubizarreta, was clearly unhappy with the sacking and, with results not going Barca's way, speculation swirled that a change of coach might also be imminent.
Speculation continued around Enrique’s continued after Saturday’s final but Bartomeu has now moved to bring that speculation to an end.
"There is no reason to break our contract with Enrique after he earned full marks for this season," Bartomeu told Sport.
Enrique himself fended off several questions about his future at his post-match news conference, saying he was only focused on celebrating the Champions League win.
"There is nothing confirmed but I do confirm there will be a big party tonight," he told reporters.
"My goal is to enjoy the moment, enjoy a nice summer," added the former Barca and Spain midfielder.
OUR VIEW
It seems rather bizarre that Enrique’s future would be open to question considering the levels of success he has enjoyed. However, this is Barcelona where politics often supersede logic. Bartomeu’s comments are a touch odd, as the fact he says “there is no reason to break our contract” implies that there have been discussions to that effect – and quite possibly, recently. Furthermore, Bartomeu’s comments also seem to disregard the fact that Enrique may want to leave. It is easy to forget that this has been a very difficult season at Barca despite their treble. Enrique was clearly a very unhappy man in January with things going on behind the scenes, so he may very well leave of his own accord.
