Five match ban for duo

The Spanish FA have banned Luis Fabiano and Carlos Diogo for five matches apiece following a brawl at the end of last weekend's Liga match. Fabiano, of Liga leaders Sevilla, and Digo, of fourth-placed Zaragoza, were both sent-off after a fist fight which was broadcast to the world on the internet.

The incident occurred after the full-time whistle, with Brazil forward Fabiano claiming that Diogo stamped on and insulted him, provoking a reaction that escalated into an exchange of wild haymakers and head butts.
In a statement the Spanish federation declared that both parties have been attributed equal responsibility for the incident.
Sevilla have responded with an appeal on the grounds that Uruguay midfielder Diogo initiated it by treading on Fabiano's hand.
Zaragoza are also expected to appeal the severity of the punishment, which is likely to fall on deaf ears.
Zaragoza won the match 2-1 at La Romareda.
