Aguirre extends contract

Osasuna coach Javier Aguirre has agreed to one-year contract extension, the Primera Liga club said on Monday. The 46-year-old Mexican, who had hinted earlier this year that he would leave at the end of the season after three years at the helm, will now stay on until June 2006.

The former Mexico coach led Osasuna to their first ever King's Cup final this season, although they lost 2-1 to Real Betis on Saturday.

As Betis had already earned a Champions League place, Osasuna qualified for the UEFA Cup next season.
