Greg Dyke: If the people who pay for FIFA want Blatter to go, it will happen
ByTNT Sports
Greg Dyke believes that Sepp Blatter’s reign as FIFA president is finally over after major sponsors McDonald’s and Coca-Cola both called for him to resign.
The FA Chairman believes that if the companies that back the world governing body want the 79-year-old to step down then they will get their way.
Dyke, an outspoken opponent of the FIFA chief, told Press Association Sport: "I think this is a game changer. It doesn't matter what Mr Blatter says now, if the people who pay for FIFA want a change they will get a change."
However, the 68-year-old insists that, even if Blatter goes, there is still a lot of work to be done to change the way the game is run.
He added: "What is important is that it isn't just about Mr Blatter standing down, it's about making sure there is a comprehensive and effective reform programme.
"So for those of us who want fundamental change this is good news."
