Great Britain women win bronze at Deaf World Cup
Great Britain women had to appeal for crowdfunding to go to the Deaf World Cup - and after donations from James Milner and Jack Butland they have won bronze.
Eurosport.com reported back in December 2015 that the squad needed to raise £10,000 to enable them to travel to Italy for the tournament - and Butland stunned them by donating half the money they needed.
Milner's foundation followed that with a sizeable donation at the start of June.
And the GB squad repaid that faith - as well as the faith of hundreds of people who gave what they could, and those who sponsored the players' kits - by beating Poland 2-0 in the third-place play-off.
Milner's foundation was quick to congratulate the squad.
