John Terry to serve one-match ban after appeal is unsuccessful
Chelsea captain John Terry will serve a one-match ban after his appeal against his red card was unsuccessful.
Terry was sent off during the 4-1 victory over Peterborough in the FA Cup third round on Sunday for bringing down Lee Angol as last man.
Both Terry and his manager Antonio Conte expressed their disappointment about the decision at the time and made it clear they would appeal.
However, the Football Association ruled that it was the correct decision and Terry will be forced to sit out one match.
This means that the centre-half will miss the trip to champions Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, although he would likely have only been a substitute.
Terry, 36, has only just returned to full fitness following a muscle injury that has kept him out for around two months.
