The UEFA Europa League is back, and some of the biggest clubs in Europe will be fighting for the trophy.
Tottenham Hotspur came out on top during the 2024/25 campaign, beating Premier League rivals Manchester United 1-0 to book their place in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
With a major trophy and a place among Europe’s elite on the line, it is sure to be a thrilling tournament.
With that in mind, here is all the information you need to keep up to date with the 2025/26 Europa League.
Who are the Premier League teams playing?
Aston Villa qualified for this season’s Europa League by finishing sixth in last season’s Premier League table and will be feeling confident about their chances with Unai Emery at the helm.
The Spaniard has won the competition four times during his career, and will now be hoping to guide Villa to European glory.
Nottingham Forest will also be in the league phase draw, though they did not qualify for the tournament on the pitch.
They were the beneficiaries of the decision to demote FA Cup winners Crystal Palace to the UEFA Conference League and will now have a shot at reaching this year’s final in Istanbul.
When does the league phase begin?
Each side will play eight matches during the league phase, four at home and four away.
Matchday 1 will be played on September 24 and 25, with Matchday 2 scheduled for October 2.

Matchday 3 is on October 23, while Matchday 4 is set to get underway on November 6.
November 27 will see teams go head-to-head for Matchday 5, with Matchday 6 and Matchday 7 scheduled for December 11 and January 22, respectively.
The league phase will then draw to a close with Matchday 8 on January 29.
When are the knockout stages?
The teams that finish between ninth and 24th in the league phase table will have to play in the knockout phase play-offs, which will be contested over two legs on February 19 and February 26.
The winning sides will join the top eight from the league phase in the last 16, which will start on March 12 with the second leg on March 19.

April 9 and April 16 will see the last eight sides collide in the quarter-finals, with the semi-finals set to be played on April 30 and May 7.
The final will then take place on May 20 at Besiktas Stadium in Istanbul.
