The Stade Velodrome crowd drove on Marseille on the night, and the Ligue 1 side struck late on through Faris Moumbagna to take the UEFA Europa League quarter-final against Benfica to extra time. The contest went all the way to penalties and it was the French side who triumphed. Angel Di Maria missed the first spot kick for Benfica and they never recovered.
