England need goalscorers

Danny Welbeck has 14 goals; Daniel Sturridge surprisingly only has five goals; Theo Walcott has hit eight international goals. Harry Kane does not cut the same big threat as he did last season. Put simply, he may have his critics, but Wayne Rooney is by an absolute distance England’s biggest scoring threat.
The best teams have a multi-faceted goal threat. England, as it stands, do not. Roy Hodgson’s side are horrendously over reliant on Wayne Rooney for goals. The worry is that Rooney has struggled in recent years with tournament football. If Rooney does not fire at the upcoming Euro 2016 tournament then England will struggle.

Raheem Sterling struggling with expectation

Raheem Sterling may very well have scored but, the truth is, not for the first time this season he really struggled to impose himself on the game. At Liverpool and without the expectation of a hefty price tag his inconsistency was an accepted flaw of a young player.
However, a price tag of £44 million brings added expectation. Yet, against a limited Estonia side Sterling struggled to impose himself and his decision-making let him down time and again. Sterling should be one of the leaders of this side, but at the moment he is looking a touch lost.

Fearless Ross Barkley should always start

The dynamism that Ross Barkley brings to this England side should make him a starter. He is far from the finished article, but his ability to carry the ball at pace makes him a potent weapon for England.
Barkley provided a wonderful assist for England’s first and probably should added his name to the scoresheet a couple of times in the second half. England are often criticised for not producing technical enough players, but in Barkley they have a player of genuine talent willing to take responsibility. If he continues to progress at the current rate then it will not be long before he can make a genuine claim to being one of England’s best players.
