Denmark were initially ordered to play their next four home games at a venue at least 200km away from Copenhagen - where the incident took place - along with fining the Danish FA 60,000 euros and awarding the tie to Sweden.
The Danes staged an appeal on the grounds that there were no suitable international stadia that far from the capital and UEFA have now agreed to consider other venues.
With the tie on June 2nd held at 3-3 after Denmark fought back from 3-0 down, referee Herbert Fandel awarded a late penalty to Sweden, prompting the attack by the disgruntled, drunken supporter.
