Leeds United pair Jonathan Woodgate and Lee Bowyer were included in the England squad on Monday for this weekend's friendly against Portugal at Villa Park.

Woodgate and Lee Bowyer were included in the England squad on
Monday for this weekend's friendly against Portugal at Villa
Park.

Woodgate and Bowyer had not previously been considered for
selection following their involvement in a court case that
followed an attack on a student in Leeds city centre. Woodgate
was sentenced to 100 hours of community service after being
found guilty of affray.
Central defender Woodgate has one previous full cap. Bowyer
has not played for the England senior team.
Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson was included for the
first time by coach Sven-Goran Eriksson but 38-year-old
goalkeeper David Seaman was omitted for England's first game
since their World Cup quarter-final exit.
Also included by Eriksson in his squad were Leeds striker
Alan Smith and Liverpool midfielders Steven Gerrard and Danny
Murphy, who both missed the World Cup due to injury.
