Antonio Rudiger has been given a six-game ban for throwing an object at the referee during Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey final loss against Barcelona.
The defender, who had been substituted, received a straight red card for his reaction to a foul given against Kylian Mbappe in the closing stages of the 3-2 defeat.
Referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea said in his report that the 32-year-old saw red for "throwing an object from the technical area, which missed me" and that he "had to be restrained by various members of the coaching staff, showing an aggressive attitude".
The German has now been handed a six-match suspension for "minor violence against the referees", according to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Rudiger’s team-mate Lucas Vazquez was also shown a red card for his reaction to the decision against Mbappe, and he has received a two-match suspension.
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham, who was sent off for dissent following the full-time whistle, has had his red card recinded.

The referee's report said Bellingham "approached our position in an aggressive attitude, having to be restrained by his team-mates".
However, the RFEF said Real provided video evidence which proved this was not the case.
Rudiger, who had apologised for his behaviour saying there was "definitely no excuse", could have been given a suspension of between four and 12 games, according to the RFEF disciplinary code.

Given the suspension will be served in La Liga games, it will carry over into the start of next season, with just five games left of the current campaign.
But with the German undergoing knee surgery on Tuesday, which is likely to rule him out for the season, the suspension is not expected to impact his minutes in Real’s title push this time around.
Vazquez’s two-game suspension, meanwhile, will be served in Copa del Rey fixtures.
