Atletico Madrid took a step towards setting up a Copa Del Rey tie against Real Madrid with a comfortable, if slightly awkward, 3-0 win over L’Hospitalet.
The Liga champions never looked comfortable in the first half, with Alessio Cerci struggling to make an impression after being handed a rare start up front for Atletico.
However, the introduction of Antoine Griezmann at the break saw Atleti take full control of the contest, as the Frenchman opened the scoring with a glancing header.
Gabi Fernandez struck from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 after a foul on Cerci, and Cristian Rodriguez completed the scoring in stoppage time with a thunderous effort from at least 25 yards.
