Confusion surrounds David De Gea's move from Manchester United to Real Madrid

Confusion surrounded the future of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea on Monday night amid reports his move to Real Madrid had collapsed at the last minute.

De Gea appeared set to move to the Bernabeu after United agreed a deal with Real, which would have included Madrid keeper Keylor Navas moving in the opposite direction and worth around £29million.

The move had to be completed before the closure of the Spanish transfer window at 11pm but the deadline passed without confirmation from either club. Soon afterwards reports emerged claiming paperwork and not been processed in time.
