The 25-year-old former Arsenal trainee - on loan from Reading - picked up the injury in training last week and missed Saturday's game against Preston, which he was expected to have been on the bench for.
"We expect Stacky to be out for four to six weeks, although he thinks he'll be quicker than that," Wolves boss Mick McCarthy said, although added that he felt returning reserve keeper Carl Ikeme has returned to full fitness.
"[Ikeme] is a player with a lot of ability so it's good to have him back."
Defender Jody Craddock, meanwhile, is expected to return from a groin strain next weekend, with Gary Breen due to start light training after a knee injury.
