CALHANOGLOU MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
Hakan Calhanolgu's penalty on the stroke of half-time made the difference at the San Siro as Inter Milan beat Arsenal 1-0 in the Uefa Champions League.
The Turkish international stroked his spot-kick down the middle after Mikel Merino was judged to have handled the ball inside the area in stoppage time of the opening period.
Mikel Arteta's side struggled to create anything clear-cut against a resolute Inter defence but came closest to equalising as Mehdi Taremi's defensive header from a corner was cleared off the line by team-mate Denzel Dumfries.
The result marks Arsenal's first defeat in Europe's elite competition this season as they remain on seven points but they will be delighted to see Martin Odegaard make a late substitute appearance following his long-term absence through injury.
Inter's unbeaten start to their European campaign continues as they move on to ten points and they are still yet to concede having kept a clean sheet in their opening four ties.

FULL TIME: INTER MILAN 1-0 ARSENAL
After one final Arsenal push, Inter can clear and the referee blows his whistle to seal Arsenal's first defeat in the Champions League this season.

NEARLY FOR NWANERI
It's nearly a fantastic moment for Nwaneri on his Champions League debut as he swivels beautifully with the ball to get past his man but his effort from the edge of the box goes over. It would have been fantastic!
Inzaghi gets a yellow card for being well in Arsenal's technical area before Saka's inswinging cross runs out for a goal-kick - that could be it.

FINAL PUSH FOR ARSENAL
Thuram does well again in his battle with Saliba and Inter are able to win a valuable throw-in in Arsenal's half.
Darmian launches one into the corner for the striker but Arsenal can eventually squirm it out to Zinchenko on their left for one last push.

ODEGAARD ON
Martin Odegaard is now on for Arsenal for these final minutes in place of Havertz. What a sight that will be for Arsenal fans - their side have really missed the skipper since his injury in September.
Havertz is able to walk down the touch line but does appear to have sustained a pretty nasty wound from that last challenge.

NASTY CLASH OF HEADS
Saliba looks to have brought down Thuram but the referee waves play on to the San Siro's fury.
Zinchenko whips a ball in to the far post towards Havertz. Bisseck rises really well to win the header but it looks like the players had a nasty clash of heads. Both players are quickly treated with blood pouring from Havertz's head now.
Five minutes are added on but there will be more than that with this stoppage.

INTER SITTING IN BUT REMAINING RESOLUTE
Inter have all eleven players within 30 yards of their own goal now. Saka's deflected cross lands on Havertz's chest but his right-footed volley is way, way wide.
Arsenal continue to probe and deliver crosses but Inter's defence is holding strong for now.

ALL ARSENAL NOW
After a really lengthy spell of Arsenal possession and pressure, Thuram does superbly to drive away from the box before winning the foul.
The ball is clipped up to him but Arsenal winner the header before Jesus wins the foul and the waves of Arsenal pressure resume.

DOUBLE-CHANGE FOR ARSENAL

MORE HOME CHANGES
Dimarco is on now for Taremi for the home side. It was the substitute's superb cross that set up the winner for Inter on the weekend.
It's all Arsenal now as they look to carve out an equaliser but they are struggling to break this resolute Inter defence down. Will we see Odegaard introduced in these closing stages?

HUGE CHANCES FOR HAVERTZ
What a chance for Arsenal! An inswinging ball from Timber lands at the feet of Havertz. He swivels and looks almost certain to score but Bissick puts in a huge block to deflect it behind for a corner.
The corner from Saka comes to nothing and the winger eventually gives the free-kick away with a handball.

DUMFRIES GOES CLOSE
Asllani is on for the goalscorer Calhanoglou for Inter.
The ball drops to Barella inside Arsenal's box. The Italian plays a looping ball to the overlapping Dumfries who takes it first time but it goes wide of the near post.
Martinelli wins the foul from Dumfries on the counter before winning the corner off him moments later. His delivery is poor though as it fails to clear the near post.

SAKA DOUBLED-UP ON
With Calanhoglou down, Arsenal continue playing past him much to Inter's dismay. The ball is worked to Saka on the right of the box but he is doubled-up on and runs out of space and options.
Thuram drives the ball into the Arsenal half before taking far too long with it as he decides what to do with it and Martinelli pinches it off him.

JESUS INTO THE BOOK
Arsenal win another corner down Saka's side. He goes for the near post again but this time Taremi, who is occupying that area, can head clear unchallenged.
Barella goes down under the challenge of Jesus and grabs the ball but the referee doesn't rule the challenge from the Arsenal man to be a foul so it's a free-kick for Arsenal. Jesus is unhappy with Barella and both players are booked for the incident.

Triple-change for Inter as Barella, Thuram and Mkhitaryan are on in place of Frattesi, Martinez and Zielinksi.
Mikel Arteta picks up a yellow card for seeming to touch the ball with his hand while it was still on the pitch! He is just itching to get involved the Arsenal boss.

ARSENAL PRESSING FOR EQUALISER
Havertz picks it up on the right of the box and cuts in onto his left foot. He looks to curl a floated cross to the far post and Sommer is forced into a good save to stop it from nestling in the top left corner.
From the resulting corner Inter really struggle to clear as Arsenal have a number of efforts blocked as Inter cling on to their clean sheet.

ARSENAL EFFORT CLEARED OFF THE LINE
Saka goes on the outside again and is rewarded with another corner as his cross is cleared behind.
This one is targeted to the near post and it gets a flick on with a number of players going up for the header but Dumfries is there at the back post to make a vital goal-line clearance.
