Aston Villa v Juventus LIVE: Late Morgan Rogers goals chalked off as game ends 0-0

The points are shared at the end of a strange match. Neither side was at their best but the headlines will be dominated by Morgan Rogers' late goal that was chalked off.

It seemed harsh but the point is still a positive result for Villa, while Juventus have some work to do if they want to qualify for the next round.

Tielemans floats a free-kick in and it looks an easy take for Di Gregorio. But he drops it and it falls for Rogers, who has the simplest of tap-ins.

Villa Park erupts, but it is being checked for a potential foul on the keeper.

Rogers breaks forward with options left and right. Juventus scramble back well though to snuff out the danger.

Torres whips in a deep cross but it’s far too close to Di Gregorio.

There will be three minutes of added time.

Motta makes a double change late on to give his side some freshness.

But Villa and Juventus are just lacking that bit of quality in the final third: a killer pass, a clinical finish, an injection of pace.

Juventus are back in cruise control as the clock winds down.

Juventus have a free-kick on the right wing and Kalulu gets on the end of it. He flicks it towards goal, but it’s diverted out for a corner.

The visitors earn another corner before Villa avert the danger and launch a counter. Tielemans has it on the right but he is surrounded by Juventus players who snuff out the attack.

Emery makes a couple of changes – Watkins and Kamara are off for Jhon Duran and Ross Barkley.

Will they provide the spark for a late winner?

Kamara and Rogers link up nicely, before the latter feeds Tielemans in space on the left.

The midfielder shapes to shoot first time and his effort is heading for the near post but Di Gregorio gets down well to make the save.

McGinn has to score. The Scotsman is found by Bailey seven yards out but can’t find the net.

It’s actually a sublime block by Locatelli as Di Gregorio was beaten.

Juventus are definitely on the front foot just now and Conceicao is at the heart of everything. He whips a cross/shot in but Martinez catches comfortably.

A replay shows just how close Conceicao’s header was to crossing the line – a matter of millimetres. How crucial could that prove at the end of the League Phase.

Juventus have a corner and it bounces through to the back post, where Conceicao is waiting.

He heads it towards the empty net, but Martinez somehow claws it out. The referee confirms it didn’t cross the line as Villa once again have their keeper to thank.

Kamara turns well in the middle of the park and looks to find Bailey, who has made a good run up the right wing. His pass is massively underhit, though, and is easily intercepted.

Locatelli is the latest player to give away a foul. Tielemans plays it into Watkins, but his touch is heavy and possession is lost.

Juventus now go on the attack and Thuram is in position to shoot from just outside the box, but his effort is well side. This game is crying out for a piece of magic.

Martinez is so nearly caught napping but he just gets the ball away. Villa break from there but the cross from the left is blocked.

The hosts are having some success on that flank so far in this second period.

Bailey sizes it up this time but his effort is well over the bar. Not entirely sure why Digne, who hit the bar from a similar position just before the break, wasn’t given it.

Anyway, we are still goalless.

The game is far more open. It could hardly have been tighter.

Tielemans spins on the edge of the Juventus box and is brought down by Thuram, earning a free-kick. Another huge chance upcoming.

Juventus are appealing for a handball. Conceicao beats Rogers brilliantly on the right and gets to the byline.

He tries to square it but it hits the arm of Torres. The referee rightly waves it away as Torres’ arms were as tucked as they could be.

That’s more like it. Digne and Rogers link up on the left flank to win Villa an early corner.

It’s worked short before McGinn floats a delivery towards the back post.

The ball is recycled and this time Digne gets a cross in, but Di Gregorio gathers it.
