Lamine Yamal names Barcelona as 'favourites' to win UEFA Champions League after Liverpool's exit to Paris Saint-Germain

Lamine Yamal believes his Barcelona side are the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season after Liverpool were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain last week. The 17-year-old believes his side "shouldn't fear anyone" after putting together an 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions. Barcelona are currently joint-top of La Liga with a game in hand and in the Copa del Rey semi-finals.

Lamine Yamal has said Barcelona are the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season after Liverpool were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain last week.
Barcelona finished second in the competition’s league phase, behind Liverpool, before dispatching Benfica 4-1 on aggregate to set up a quarter-final tie with last season’s finalists, Borussia Dortmund.
Should they get past Dortmund, they will face either Bayern Munich or Inter Milan in the semi-finals, before a potential showdown with one of Arsenal, PSG, Aston Villa or bitter rivals Real Madrid in the final.
When asked by Diario Sport about the prospect of facing 15-time winners and reigning champions Real in the final, Yamal said: "We shouldn't fear anyone.
"I said that Liverpool were the favourites because they finished first in the league phase and then came us. I don't fear any team. We are the side that does the most damage to Madrid, and vice versa.
"If you think you're not favourites, you're already starting to lose. Don't think teams can beat you. Think that you're the best team, play the best football and have the best chance of winning."

Barcelona extended their unbeaten run to 18 games on Sunday, after coming back from two goals down to beat Atletico Madrid 4-2 and go level on points with Real at the La Liga summit.
"The feeling I have is that I am part of a winning team," Yamal added. "Last year against Atletico, a game like Sunday, we don't turn that around.
"The same goes for that match against Benfica. We have the feeling that we are winners and we want more and more."
Barcelona are on course to win a treble, with their Copa del Rey semi-final on a knife-edge after a 4-4 first-leg draw with Atletico.
