The UEFA Champions League round of 16 has thrown up a mouth-watering tie which sees La Liga and city rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid going head-to-head. The first leg takes place at the Bernabeu with the reigning champions gunning for yet another title and their arch nemeses looking to stop them in their tracks.

The Spanish capital will take centre stage in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 as rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been paired together once again.
All eyes will be on the Bernabau as Real Madrid host the first leg, live on TNT Sports and discovery+, ahead of the return at the Metropolitano next week.
Atleti reached this stage of the competition by virtue of a fifth-place finish in the league phase, winning six of their eight matches.
However, the road has been less smooth for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, who finished 11th and were forced to go through the play-offs.
They were handed a tough draw in the form of Manchester City, but an impressive Kylian Mbappe-inspired 6-3 aggregate win saw them book safe passage to the next stage.
The two have faced off several times in the competition, with Los Blancos getting the better of Diego Simeone’s side, not least in the finals of 2013/14 and 2015/16.
Domestically, the two teams are locked in a three-way battle for La Liga along with Barcelona, and have drawn both meetings with one another this season.
