Conor Gallagher stunned Real Madrid with a goal after just 27 seconds in Wednesday's huge UEFA Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid - live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
It is the fastest goal ever scored by Atletico in Europe's premier club competition.
Atletico were trailing 2-1 after the first leg, but amid a frenzied atmosphere they struck with less than half a minute on the clock.
It was Englishman Gallagher that wrote his name into the history books and sent the Metropolitano wild with delight.
It was also the earliest goal conceded by Real in the Champions League since Roy Makaay netted against them for Bayern Munich in 2007.
That was also a game at the last 16 stage of the competition, as Real were knocked out of the tournament.
The second-fastest goal in UEFA Champions League history came when Jonas scored after 11 seconds for Valencia against Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.
Gallagher can also treasure becoming the first Englishman to score in the Madrid derby.
Real are the most successful team in European Cup history, winning the trophy 15 times.
Two of their wins in finals have come against Atletico. The first came in 2014 in Lisbon, when Real won 4-1 after extra-time.
Two years later, in the 2016 final, Real won on penalties at Milan's San Siro after a 1-1 draw.
When the teams met last week at the Bernabeu, Brahim Diaz scored a brilliant winner to give Real the advantage in the tie.
