Phil Foden has revealed a dead leg forced him to come off during Manchester City's UEFA Champions League draw away to Real Madrid. The midfielder was forced off late on during the first leg of the quarter-final tie. He had already netted a stunning goal by this point though, meaning the tie will be all-square as the two teams head to the Etihad Stadium for the return fixture next week.

'So many positives' - Foden on thrilling draw in Madrid

Phil Foden has eased fears over the injury he picked up during Manchester City's UEFA Champions League draw with Real Madrid, which he described as "a fantastic result".
But there were some worried faces in the visiting dugout when Foden limped off late on following a collision with Eduardo Camavinga, with Pep Guardiola revealing the midfielder was "grumpy" to be removed.
"I've got a bit of a bad dead leg," he told TNT Sports. "But there's a bit of time now to recover, so hopefully I can."
City took an early lead in Spain through Bernardo Silva's strike, only for a Ruben Dias own goal and deflected Rodrygo shot to put Los Blancos 2-1 up.
Foden took centre-stage after the break though when he wonderfully found the top corner with a curling effort from the edge of the area.
And he admits he knew he had caught it perfectly as soon as he struck the ball.
"I did you know," he smiled. "I just felt the sweet connection with it.
"It's something I always practise in training, where you receive it on the edge of the box and sometimes they don't go in. I'm just thankful today that I've seen it go into the top corner."
City then went 3-2 up when Josko Gvardiol bagged his first goal for the club, only for Federico Valverde to equalise with 11 minutes left.

It sets the tie up perfectly for the return leg at the Etihad Stadium next week.
Pep Guardiola's side will head into that match hoping to repeat their 4-0 thrashing of Real when the two teams met in the semi-finals of the Champions League last year.
And although Foden is disappointed City will not have an advantage when they return to England he is satisfied with the result.
"For the fans, it must have been one of the best games they could have possibly watched," he continued. "Two great teams with probably the best attackers in the world going head to head. It's what the fans want to see. Plenty of goals as well.

"I believe in that saying sometimes, sometimes you score a bit too early. They responded really well with two quick goals, and we had to just settle again and play our football.
"This team's come a long way now. When we go down, we don't put our heads down. We believe in our ability and we know we can always come back from behind. It's a great team to be a part of.
"I think with the possession that we had, they got a little bit more tired. There was a little bit more space for me to come inside and find the pockets.
"As the time went on, the game seemed to open up a little bit more and I thought we grew into the game, especially the second half. We had a couple of chances and I'm just really happy to make the most of one of my chances as well.
"Overall, we can't dwell on the result. I think it's a fantastic result, to come here and get a draw.
"I think we're a little bit disappointed, especially when we went 3-2 up. We maybe could have controlled it a little bit more.
"We didn't keep the ball off the goal kick, and they went and scored with a fantastic strike. We can't dwell on it. There's so many positives and things that we can improve going into the second leg."
