‘I'm a failure’ – Guardiola says Champions League win will not make up for perceived idol snub

The 2022/2023 Champions League is approaching its decisive rounds with the last eight teams knowing they are close to reaching the final in Istanbul on June 10.
After Bayern Munich, Benfica, Chelsea and AC Milan booked their places in the last eight they were joined by reigning champions Real Madrid, Inter, Napoli and Manchester City and free-scoring Erling Haaland following their respective wins this week.
But who will face who in the quarter-finals? And what is the route to the final?

When is the Champions League quarter-final draw?

The draw for the Champions League quarter-finals takes place on Friday, March 17 in Nyon, Switzerland.

When is the semi-final draw?

The draw for the semi-final takes place at the same time.

Will the draw be seeded? Is there country protection?

No to both. The draw is open meaning each of the eight teams can be drawn against any other without any restriction.
Teams can face another club from the same country or a side they faced during the group stage, which wasn’t the case in the round of 16.

How can I watch the draw?

The draw will be streamed on March 17 at 11:00 UK time (12:00 CET) live on BT Sport.

What are the dates of the quarters and semis?

The first leg ties will be played on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 April with the return matches taking place the following week on April 18 and 19.
The first legs of the semi-finals are scheduled for May 9 and 10 with the second legs on 16/17 May.

Will there be away goals?

The away goals was introduced in 1965 and for many years used as a tie-breaker when teams were level after two legs, with the team scoring more goals away from home advancing in the competition.
However, UEFA abolished the rule ahead of the 2021/22 season, meaning ties with a level aggregate score will now go to extra-time and if necessary, penalties.

Who is in the draw?

The confirmed teams in the quarter-final of the Champions League are:
  • Bayern Munich (GER)
  • Benfica (POR)
  • Chelsea (ENG)
  • AC Milan (ITA)
  • Manchester City (ENG)
  • Inter (ITA)
