Arsene Wenger has waded into the debate over his former player Alexis Sanchez, saying he is not surprised he has been left out of the Manchester United team.

The Chilean played under Wenger at Arsenal for four years from 2014 but has had a slow start at the Old Trafford club.
He was introduced against PSG on Tuesday night, but failed to take his chance, coming on at the start of the second half, as his side slipped to a 2-0 defeat in their Champions League last-16, first leg encounter.
And Wenger remains to be convinced he should be starting for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Wenger told beIN Sport: "He has lost his place and plays in the same position as Martial.
Today who would dispute that Martial is indispensable for Man United? He plays and that’s competition and that’s fair competition in my opinion.
After the match, Solskjaer added that there is limited impact he can have on his Chile forward.
The interim boss said: "I can't do anything about Alexis Sanchez. When he plays he needs to find himself because we know there's a quality player there."
