After an open first-half, that was still low on chances, where Mohamed Salah and Dani Carvajal were both taken off Real took the lead in comical fashion.
A ball over the top aimed to find Karim Benzema went straight through to Karius.
However as he threw the ball out Benzema nipped in and directed the ball into the net.
But the Reds weren’t behind for long as Mane got on the end of a header from Dejan Lovren to make the game even.
However Gareth Bale's incredible over-head kick put Real back in the lead.
