Extra time: Real Madrid and 10-man Bayern Munich battle on in Champions League thriller
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were forced to battle on into extra time on Tuesday as the German giants matched the hosts’ 2-1 first-leg result to take the aggregate score to 3-3.
Bayern will go into the extra 30 minutes a man down after Arturo Vidal was sent off having received his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute.
Returning from injury, Robert Lewandowski scored the visitors’ first goal of the night, converting a penalty awarded after Casemiro caught Arjen Robben in the area.
Cristiano Ronaldo levelled the score with a header from Casemiro’s cross in the 76th minute.
However, Sergio Ramos followed up with a disastrous own goal moments afterwards in the 78th minute.
