Samir Nasri: Could PSG do it on a Monday night at Stoke?
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri referenced a well-trodden cliché to dismiss European rivals Paris Saint-Germain, musing whether they could perform against Stoke City on a Monday night.
City travel to the French champions on Wednesday for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
But despite PSG comfortably ousting Chelsea in the previous round, Nasri questioned whether Laurent Blanc's would dominate in England – before hinting at the classic pub debate, which poses whether a certain player or team could ‘do it on a wet, windy night at Stoke’.
"It's true they have a big team, but I do not think they are above the others [in England]," Nasri told L'Equipe.
There are no easy games in England, not one. I'd like to see Paris play a Monday night at Stoke, West Ham or at the Emirates against Arsenal.
"Today, the big four is no more. There are six or seven teams who can be champions. It's harder. But this is Paris, not Barca."
Nasri returned from a five-month injury absence in City’s 4-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.
