Florentino Perez: Real Madrid will bounce back from European exit

Los Blancos exited Europe’s elite club competition at the hands of Juventus in the semi-finals on Wednesday after they failed to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg, managing only a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the President was hopeful about the future.

“It’s not a happy day for Real Madrid. Our fans are sad, but this [elimination] will make us stronger and work harder,” he said at a promotional event on Thursday.

“Nothing is ever enough [at Madrid]. We want more and we’ll keep fighting to win La Undecima [an 11th Champions League].

“I want to thank Real Madrid’s fans for their support, both [on Wednesday] and forever. The members and fans make this club legendary.”
