HOW IT WORKS
This season we will be using the Hypercube Infostrada Euro Club Index, which scientifically analyses hundreds of thousands of matches from the top divisions in all European nations as well as Europa League and Champions League games.
The Index takes into account all matches played over a three-year period but with recent results carrying more weight than older ones.

After all the optimism of the protracted takeover finally being completed last week, Liverpool fans were brought back down to earth with a bump with Sunday's 2-0 defeat at local rivals Everton.
After losing at home to Blackpool before the international break saw the Reds drop out of the top 10, their poor showing at Goodison Park sees Roy Hodgson's side slip another four places, while the Toffees consolidate their place in the top 30.
Barcelona's thrilling win over Valencia keeps them firmly at the top (in fact, none of the top seven positions change again this week), while the defeat for Los Che sees them swap places with last season's Champions League runners-up Bayern Munich.
Elsewhere in Spain, Sevilla and Villarreal both drop places after their respective defeat at Sporting Gijon and draw at Hercules. Villarreal would have gone top of La Liga with a win at the Estadio Jose Rico Perez.
Meanwhile it was a good week for the French sides as Lyon remain 10th and Marseille and Bordeaux both leapt up the rankings, while upwardly mobile Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City also both move up one spot after their weekend wins.
