Cardiff to host 2017 Champions League finals, says UEFA

The Millennium Stadium and the Cardiff City Stadium will host the men's and women's Champions League finals respectively in 2017.

He also confirmed that the Friends Arena in Stockholm will be the venue for the 2017 Europa League final.

The executive committee of European football's governing body convened in Prague to discuss the topic, and Cardiff has long been reported to be among the frontrunners for the 2017 events.

The Millennium Stadium, which is owned by the Welsh Rugby Union, opened in 1999 and staged the English FA Cup finals from 2001 until 2006 while Wembley was being rebuilt.
