It wasn't quite as one-sided as the final scoreline might suggest, but Bayern can be satisfied with their efforts. Werder clung on until Kane made it 2-0 with a quarter of an hour to go but, after that, they fell apart, allowing Sane and Tel to inflict further punishment.

A 4-0 defeat feels harsh on Werder, but their defence has gone to pieces. Tel burnishes Bayern's win, smashing a shot past Pavlenka from just inside the box.

That settles it. Sane adds gloss to the scoreline late on, finishing off a neat passing move from close range.

Tel comes close to killing the game once and for all, but his shot is deflected just over the crossbar.

Tuchel opts for a triple change to round off the night, bringing on Thomas Muller, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Mathys Tel for Musiala, Coman and Kane.
