Borussia Dortmund 4-0 Eintracht Frankfurt: Jude Bellingham on target as hosts breeze to victory and go top

England's Jude Bellingham was among the goalscorers as Borussia Dortmund cruised past Eintracht Frankfurt in style on Saturday evening. Bellingham got on the scoresheet first in the 19th minute, and it was smooth sailing from then on for the hosts as they capitalised on Bayern Munich slipping up against Mainz to steal a march on Thomas Tuchel's men in the Bundesliga title race.

Donyell Malen scored his first Bundesliga brace in a 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt to fire Borussia Dortmund to the top of the Bundesliga.
Further goals from Jude Bellingham and Mats Hummels helped Dortmund overcome Frankfurt, claiming their ninth successive home win - a club record.
The three points takes them above Bayern Munich, who were beaten by Mainz earlier in the day to dent Thomas Tuchel's side's title hopes.
It didn’t take long for Dortmund to open the scoring as Julian Brandt and Bellingham combined to give the hosts the advantage.
Brandt poked the ball to Bellingham who spun on the spot to make space in the penalty box and open his body for a shot, which the 19-year-old calmly dispatched into the bottom corner.
Malen continued his fine form in front of goal to double Dortmund’s lead, finishing off an excellent move that started from Gregor Kobel at the back.
The goalkeeper punted the ball up the pitch and when Sebastian Haller headed on to Karim Adeyemi, he rose highest to nod it into the path of Malen to slot home.
Frankfurt had two good chances to pull a goal back and Kobel was called into action to deny Aurelio Buta, before Mario Gotze’s shot dribbled wide.
After throwing away a two-goal lead last week, Dortmund made sure it wouldn’t happen again when Hummels headed home for a third - the 15th season in a row the veteran defender has found the back of the opposition net.
Malen made sure of the three points when he fired a shot across goal and beyond Trapp for his second of the match.
Next up for Dortmund is a trip to VfL Bochum, where they’ll begin to defend their advantage at the top of the table.

TALKING POINT - DORTMUND LEAD THE TITLE RACE

Thanks to Bayern Munich’s slip-up in a 3-1 defeat to Mainz earlier in the day, Dortmund held their nerve and put in a brilliant performance to take their chance - and take the lead of the Bundesliga table.
The win was even sweeter for Dortmund after last week’s sickening draw at Stuttgart, but they’re now one point ahead of Bayern as they search for their first Bundesliga title since 2012.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - DONYELL MALEN (DORTMUND)

Dortmund are looking to interrupt Bayern Munich’s dominance in the Bundesliga and are five games away from doing so. A lot of that is down to Malen, who is in the form of his life at the moment.
He scored two goals today, which were his seventh and eighth goal contributions in his last five Bundesliga games - six goals and two assists.

Buta slips the ball to Gotze who has space in the box, he takes a touch to set himself up before producing a low shot towards the back stick, but it's just the wrong side of the post and trickles wide.
