The 20-year-old was one of the stars of the tournament, scoring five goals, including two against England, to claim the Golden Boot as Germany took third place.
Those performances made Mueller, who also won the best young player award in South Africa, one of the hottest properties in European football, with the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea reportedly keen on acquiring his services.
But Bayern have been quick to fend off that interest by tying the forward, whose previous contract ran until 2013, to a long-term deal at the Allianz Arena.
He will reportedly improve on his two million euro salary by half.
"His development has been phenomenal. We are ready to reward his performances," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
