Arsenal moved into the top three of the Women's Super League with a dominant 3-1 victory over Manchester United in front of a record crowd at the Emirates Stadium. In front of 60,160 supporters, the Gunners put on a ruthless display to dispatch a poor United side, with a Geyse own goal, Cloe Lacasse's header, and Kim Little's penalty piling the pressure on Marc Skinner in the visiting dugout.

Arsenal rose into the top three of the Women’s Super League with a 3-1 victory over Manchester United in front of a record 60,160 crowd at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners, who had to put a 2-1 league defeat to West Ham and an FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester City out of their minds, did just that, as an own goal from Geyse, a second from Cloe Lacasse, and a Kim Little penalty put Marc Skinner’s visitors to the sword in north London.
Jonas Eidevall’s side had been reinvigorated in midweek with a morale-bolstering 4-0 win in the League Cup over Championship side London City Lionesses, where squad and fringe players were given the opportunity to stake a claim for a starting shirt, and it was one of them, Lacasse, who earned her stripes.
Given a start off the left flank after her double in the cup, the Canadian repaid the faith shown in her by her manager as she nodded into an unguarded net after Katie Zelem had sliced her clearance.
That wasn’t before the home side had gone in front through Geyse, who put through her own net in the tenth minute, with Katie McCabe’s corner deflecting in off the winger.
Kim Little finished off a fabulous first-half for the home side as they went in three goals to the good, after Gemma Evans, the United left-back had hauled down Beth Mead, with Little netting another spot kick, after converting one in first-half stoppage time in the week.
Lucia Garcia snatched a late consolation for United deep into second-half injury time, but it was too little, too late for Skinner’s side, who are now seven points off today’s opponents, with pressure growing on the United boss.
