The 25-year-old was part of France's World Cup winning team, scoring a goal in the final against Croatia.
Pogba is one of six members of Les Bleus' squad nominated for France Football Magazine's prestigious award - with team-mates Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, Raphael Varane, N'Golo Kante and Hugo Lloris joining the midfield star.
However, the Manchester United man believes he should not win the Ballon d'Or ahead of his international team-mates. He told AFP:
"One of the four also because there is NG (Kante). That's all I hope for anyway, because there are many who deserve it. I do not put myself in."
The 2018 Ballon d'Or ceremony takes place in Paris on December 3.
