Nigeria went ahead just before half-time when Odemwingie collected the ball outside the area and scored with a left-foot shot which found its way between Kampango and his near post.

Two minutes after the restart, Odemwingie struck again, turning in an easy chance after Yakubu Aiyegbeni broke down the left.

That ended the game as a contest and Martins completed the scoring when he hammered home a rebound after John Obi Mikel had dispossessed a defender and seen his shot saved by Kampango.
