Senegal win a free-kick down the left, near the corner flag, and instead of crossing it goes short to Ciss, whose cross picks out Pape Gueye unmarked at the back post ... and he heads down and wide!

SENEGAL MAINTAIN PRESSURE

That's the best way for them, because Burkina aren't good enough to outplay them in midfield and if the ball's down the other end they can't score. I'd rather defend a few counters than the box for 10 minutes.

Have the centre-backs combined to put their team in the final?!

I'm not sure if he's taken Diedhiou's place, or it's just where he currently is. I get why you'd want him in the middle of the pitch, but he's better on the flank where he can find space. Patience.

I wonder if he might be the gamebreaker Senegal need. I don't know how fit he is, but if he can stretch the play down the right, it'll be harder for Burkina to stay as compact as they have so far.
